Recipe: Magic Cookie Bars
Dessert is a party's grand finale. Finish your party menu off with these simple-to-make magic cookie bars. These magic cookie bars were introduced to me by Linda McKenzie and have been my after-dinner dessert go-to ever since. Serve with vanilla ice cream and walla!
1/2 C. butter
1 1/2 C. Graham cracker crumbs
1 14-ounce can sweetened condensed milk
6 ounces of semi-sweet chocolate chips
13 1/2-ounce can flaked coconut (1 1/3 cups)
1 C. Chopped nuts ( I used pecans)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
In a 13x9 baking dish melt the butter in the oven.; sprinkle crumbs over butter; pour sweetened condensed milk evenly over crumbs.
Top evenly with remaining ingredients (in order listed); press down firmly.
Bake 25-30 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool. Chill thoroughly, if desired. (I do not). Cut bars into squares. Store loosely covered at room temperature.
